Fall 2012

This post is comprised of many wonderful times we had this fall, our last fall, in Tennessee.  Because it will be our last fall in Tennessee, I write this with a bit of sadness in my heart.  We are relocating back west to the Land of Enchantment where we truly hope to stay and raise our family.  The Southeast has been particularly good to us and we have built fantastic family memories here, met life-long friends and experienced things that can't be replicated out west.
There were many firsts here in Tennessee and this fall started off with the tooth fairy visiting for the first time.

And Kestrel and I made a visit to the Build-a-Bear workshop where she created Coco-Woco-Fluffy Bear.  I have to admit, it was pretty fun...

There are many weekends when Luke is at work and the kids and I go on an adventure.  My dear friend, Jenny, is also an adventurer and is always up for fun.  This fall, we all jumped in her party van (and it is making me think I want a van, to my dismay) and made our way to Elijay, Georgia for the annual Apple Jubilee.  The pick-your-own farm we went to was an apple pickin', pig racin', animal pettin', horse ridin', steer sittin', cow milkin', trike zoomin' kind of place.

Riding the tractor in.  Acadiana is picture perfect!

They said Bull Ridin', but I am pretty sure he is Steer Sittin' :)
Acadiana and Layton - maybe this tells of their future.

Love to see all these kids runnin' and playin'

Still happy after a full day at the Apple Jubilee!
We will miss our friends, The Martins.  They are a wonderful family and each of us has a special bond with them.  They were so supportive of Luke when he was in flight school and changing his career path and always helpful to me with the kids.  I have shared many laughs (and a few tears) with Jenny and her friendship is very dear to me.   Acadiana, Cailey Jo and Brice(y) are my kids' besties.  We will miss our weekly potlucks and I know Pokey will miss Otis, but the party van will surely make a trek out west and the desert will welcome them with open arms!  When I get my van, we will trek back here as we make our way to Florida.  We love us some Martins!!!

We also had a visit from our Bapi this fall.  He was here for a whole week to help out while the kids had fall break.  Helpful he was!  He cleans, does laundry, repairs toys and gives us all lots of loves.  We really enjoyed his visit this year and can't wait to spend more time in NM together.

We took Bapi with us on our yearly trip to the pumpkin patch.  We headed to Rainsville, Alabama and spend most of day continuing our redneck fun!  There is a fabulous corn cob shooter, barn cats, hay ride, paint-your-pumpkin station and a super corn pit to play in.  It was bapi's first time to a pumpkin patch and we were so happy he got to join us!

Bapi and his film camera....

Unfortunately, we also had to have some unfun too.  Kestrel had to have her tonsils and adenoids out this fall.  She was down for almost two weeks, but her recovery went smoothly and she is 100% back to normal.  She breathes better, sleeps better and is trying lots of new food!

The surgery was scheduled so Kestrel would be back to normal for Halloween and we were so happy she was!  Our neighborhood throws a big party every year and trick-or-treating is a blast when you live in Waterhaven.  I usually try to have family theme and this year, we did black and white.  Layton was a VERY scary skeleton, Kestrel was a white kitty princess and I got into the spirit with some face paint too :)

Nutella pop tarts for Halloween morning

She is not dressed - she is still recovering....

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!!
Our next post will probably be after the New Year.  Our cross-country relocation is one month away and settling in to the new house in NM will take a while with the Holidays....

Have a Happy Holiday Season with friends and family!  We plan on living it up with all of ours!!!!
