Rallycar Project FOR SALE

It breaks my heart to do this but I think it's time to let go of this dream, for now at least, since I've just got too much going on to think about finishing this car.

The history: I bought the car from a guy in Colorado in 2008 with no title. I was told that there are lots of options around this problem, such as salvage titles or even a donor car (for the VIN number) to fix the title issue. Anyway, I worked on it about six months before moving the project to Birmingham, AL, where it sits now. After three years I've learned that I know nothing about cars, or rather, have no idea how to put together a car that I didn't take apart, so it's been impossible for me to finish, mostly because I don't have enough time to work on it.

To protect the body and cage I took it to Maaco for a pro paint job, and with Edwin Cunill's help (Element Garage) we put the engine in, ran the brake lines, bolted a few hoses on and put some wiring stuff together... anyway, I've decided that I need to sell the VW, so it's FOR SALE!

Here's what you get:
  • Caged 1990 VW Golf  (Cage built by Brian Moody of Salta in Denver, CO)
  • Rebuilt 8v engine, race cam, header
  • New Kaaz LSD with rebuilt transmission and custom gear ratio
  • New Haltech E6X EMS
  • Two new Sparco seats/mounts
  • New Sparco quick disconnect steering wheel
  • New hydraulic handbrake, lines and 4 brembo discs
  • Custom aluminum dash (built by previous owner/builder)
  • 10 wheels
  • OEM suspension with stiffer springs (with spare fronts)
  • New bushings, gauges, k&n air intake/filter
  • two electrical harness and lots of random wire/connectors
  • spare engine block
  • spare original transmission
  • extra half shafts ( I think 2 each side)
  • two new extra brake rotors
  • What you will need to purchase are some odd plumbing pieces and a new radiator, windows, exhaust/cat from the header back, maybe headlights. I have two new seat belts, never used but the dates are expired. That should be about it.
$4000--SOLD!

If anyone is interested please let me know and I'll get you in touch with my good friend Edwin Cunill (pictured in the above photo) who's keeping the car at Element Garage in Birmingham, AL
