1st Annual Helloween RallyCross
Last weekend I went down to Alabama for a super fun RallyX event at Shag Bark Rally Park south of Birmingham. It hadn't rained much anywhere in the Southeast for several weeks so the dust was thick! It had a been a while since I'd driven an event so my first few runs were a bit off pace. My slow runs made it pretty tough to keep up with the crew, but after eight runs with no errors I almost caught up with Element Garage's Edwin Cunill, who was kind enough to let me drive his BMW 2002, yet again. Ed always drives fast and took first at National's in the prepared rear class in Colorado this August. At the end of the day Ron "DirtDog" Foley dusted everyone in his red Dodge Neon, everyone had a blast and ate lots of candy and cupcakes. After eight daylight runs we reconfigured the course for a couple of night runs as a thunderstorm crept up on us. The massive dust clouds made it almost impossible to see anything since it was hard enough when it was light out. Thanks to Edwin and Ron for setting up a great course, Charles for timing all day and the Andrews family for hosting yet another awesome event on their property.
